About Us

“Artificial Intelligence” seems to be one of those terms that invite broad reaching discussions like few others. That’s what we discovered during several long evenings in which we again and again came back to circling AI and the plethora of questions related to it. What does it mean to be human if one day AI is cognitively superior to us? Will the development of AI maybe lead to immortality for humans, or to human extinction? What are the more medium-term consequences of AI in the justice system or the labour market?

These were only few of the questions that came up during our meetings. The abundance of great topics for in-depth discussions led us to the foundation of AI Talk, with which we want to provide a forum for these kinds of discussions. Founded in 2021 as an official club and hopefully soon an accredited student initiative at the university of Mannheim, we want to enable our members to think about AI and its social consequences as we believe AI is inevitable and will change the way we see the world.
